Adsorptive Desulfurization of Liquid Fuels
Adsorptive desulfurization with CuNa-Y zeolite and a flow-through adsorber operating at 180 oC and 200 psi can effectively reduce the sulfur content of JP-8 to ultra-low values (1-10 ppmw) over a broad range of LHSV values. Desulfurization at these conditions proceeds in two stages: chemisorption followed by surface chemical reactions.

Modulating the Growth of Engineered Tissues
We use modeling and computational tools to demonstrate that both the growth rate and the structure of engineered tissues are modulated by (a) the dynamics and heterogeneity of cell populations, (b) the local availability (or the mass transfer rate) of nutrients and growth factors, (c) the bioreactor configuration, and (d) the seeding conditions.
